Loverna was founded in 1913. Like near every other small community in the province, it sprang to life with the coming of the railway. The Loverna Legion Branch 91 was formed in the spring and summer of 1946. The Loverna Legion Branch No. 91 was presented with its charter on August 20, 1946. Over the years, the Loverna Legion has taken an active part in the Loverna Community by helping maintain the Loverna Cenotaph.

Between Grace United and All Saint’s Anglican on Main Street, the Loverna Cenotaph honours those who fought and died for our freedoms.

To the glory of God and in loving memory of these men of Loverna district who fell in the Great War.

Their names live forevermore
