In 1923, a Memorial Flag Pole was erected by the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire. The design included a concrete base five feet deep, with a five foot section of Indiana stone which was surmounted by a steel structure. The memorial honoured the Ingersoll men who fell overseas in the First World War. Inscriptions to commemorate the Second World War and the Korean War were added later.

In addition, the Victory Loan Team of 1918 erected a band shell in the park as a “slight appreciation of the brave men and women who took active part of the Great World War, 1914-1918”.
