Erected by the Soldiers' Comfort Club of the Township of Nipissing, this memorial is dedicated to the local war dead of the First World War. During the war years, the women of the area had formed what became known as "The Soldiers Comfort Club" and various "comforts" were sent to the boys overseas. When the war ended, they, and the rest of the community were responsible for erecting this monument.

There are also names engraved of those who died in the Second World War.
