This sculpture, “PAARDEBERG”, depicts a member of 2e Royal Canadian Regiment raising hit helmet in a victory salute at the battle of Paardeberg during the Boer War in 1900. The sculpture was inspired by the painting “Dawn of Majuba” (1900) by Richard Caton Woodville. It was unveiled in March 2013 and is dedicated to current and past members of Royal Canadian Regiment, in particular those who served during the battle of Paardeberg.
