This memorial wall is composed of three black stone panels on a pink granite wall. It was unveiled in October 2011 by the Government of Canada and the Italian-Canadian Community Centre of the National Capital Region. It is dedicated to the Italian-Canadians of Ottawa who died in the service of Canada during the Second World War, as well as to those interned in internment camps.

This memorial Wall is a testament to the Italian Canadians of Ottawa for their perseverance, courage and loyalty to Canada during the Second World War (1939 – 1945)
With Italy’s declaration of war against the Allied forces on June 10, 1940, Canadians of Italian origin were declared enemy aliens. Thousands of men and women across Canada were required to report to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Though no charges were laid against them, approximately 630 people of Italian origin were sent to internment camps. Five Ottawa men were interned in camps in Petawawa, Ontario and Gagetown, New Brunswick.
Italian Canadians in Ottawa participated fully in supporting Canada’s war effort. Many served in Canada’s armed forces. Among them a number died overseas fighting for their country.

Questo muro commemorative serve come testament all perseveranze, il corragio e la Lealta degli Italo Canadesi nei confronti del Canada durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale (19139 – 1945)
Quando l’Italia, i 10 guigno 1940, dichiaro Guerra all forze alleate, l Canadesi di origine Italiani vennero dichiarati nemici stanieri. A magliaia di uomini e donne in tutto il Canada fu richiest di consegnarsi alla Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Ce mur commémoratif, étant un hommage aux Italo Canadiens d’Ottawa reconnait la Persévérance, le courage et la loyauté envers le Canada dont ils ont fait preuve durant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale (1939 – 1945)
Lorsque l’Italie a déclaré la guerre aux forces alliées, le 10 juin 1940, les Canadiens d’origine italienne ont été déclarés sujets d’un pays ennemi. Des milliers d’hommes et de femmes de tout le Canada ont alors été obligés de se présenter à la Gendarmerie Royal du Canada. Bien qu’aucune accusation ne fût portée contre eux, quelques 630 ont été envoyés dans des camps d’internement. Cinq hommes d’origine italienne qui résidaient à Ottawa furent internés dans des camps situés à Petawawa, Ontario et à Gagetown au Nouveau Brunswick.
Les Italo Canadiens d’Ottawa ont participé pleinement à l’effort de guerre du Canada. Beaucoup ont servi dans les Forces armées canadiennes. Parmi eux un nombre sont morts au combat pour leur pays.
