Erected by the residents of School Section No. 4 Ryerson (as this community was formerly known), this memorial is dedicated to Private Douglas Wiseman, a local soldier killed in action during the Battle of Cambrai on October 2, 1918. The schoolhouse he once attended now houses the Burk's Falls and District Horticultural Society Museum.
