The Trent River Cenotaph is dedicated to the local men who served and died for their country. It was originally dedicated in 1928 to one soldier, Private Richard Cowan, who died while serving in the First World War.

A plaque was added in 1988 to honour other those that served in the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. Another plaque was added in 2010 to honour both George Edmund Longmuir and Private Richard Cowan. The cenotaph has been restored and rededicated at least twice since its first unveiling. Two small plaques at the front of the memorial, on each side of the 1914-1918 gates, lists those responsible for its creation. At the top of the memorial is a cast-bronze figure of a carrier pigeon, designed by James Wright.
