Arthur Norman Martin designed the Second World War Memorial on the grand staircase leading from the Lobby of Old City Hall in Sept. 1947. The stained-glass window designed by Robert McCausland is located on the staircase, facing the entranceway. The window features the city’s coat-of-arms, the panels below it illustrating the union of commerce and industry.
