This memorial park is dedicated to R. Stanley Weir, the author of the words to "O Canada" and contributor to Canadian unity in the post-First World War era. The land was donated by his son, Squadron Leader Ronald A.S. Weir, Royal Canadian Air Force, in 1956, and is marked as a memorial by a sculptured granite stele erected in May 1999.
