On September 28th, 2010 two pieces of artwork 'Lone Piper' by Joanne Gervais and ‘Where have all the flowers gone’ artwork by Bruce Sherman (2010) were formally accepted by 13987 Brian Bailey, President of the RMC Club as part of the alumni weekend festivities. The paintings commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Royal Military College of Canada band (1950-2010). The Lone Piper wears the distinctive uniform of a RMC band piper. The original painting 'Where have all the flowers gone' was gifted to 22621 Tara Dawe in memory of 22596 Capt Matt Dawe (RMC 2000) by the artist, a family friend of S150 LCol (Ret’d) Peter Dawe. Captain Matt Dawe, 27 years old, was killed along with five other Canadian soldiers and an interpreter by a roadside bomb on Wednesday, July 5th, 2007. He has left behind his parents Lieutenant-Colonel and Mrs. Peter Dawe, his wife Tara and their son to grieve. The Commemorative paintings hang in the practice room(s) in Yeo hall. The donations were made by RMC alumni, Victoria Edwards and Gus Nelson.
