IN LOVING MEMORY OF STELLARTON'S BRAVE YOUNG MEN WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE FOR THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM(needs further research/recherche incomplète)
Stellarton Memorial Rink was built in 1947 as a living memorial to the fallen ones of the First and Second World Wars, and it was first available for children to skate on December 29th, 1947. The original plaque was installed by Kiwanis, and listed the names of those fallen. A new plaque listing the names was unveiled on September 28th, 1997. The plaque is forty feet long, weighs 1,900 pounds, and contains 117 names. Four smaller plaques naming veterans who were decorated during the World Wars will also be hung throughout the rink, as well as a fifth plaque which will outline the history.

ADAMS ST
In August of 1938, Bill Adams sailed from Halifax, Nova Scotia and enlisted in the 2nd Battalion Manchester Regiment, British Army. He was the second recruit of the Halifax Hundred. Between February 1938 and September 1939, nearly 100 Canadians (mostly from Nova Scotia) were part of a unique recruitment which lead the majority to enlist in the 2nd Battalion Manchester Regiment. Bill was a friend of Walter O'Hara who was the first Halifax Hundred recruit.
Bill was killed in action on 10 May 1940 in France and Adams Street is named in his honour.
