This Roll of Honour was created by James A. McCormick, a draftsman with the City of Winnipeg Engineering Department. It was hung in the corridors of City Hall until it was transferred to the Archives for safekeeping.

The City of Winnipeg Employees First World War Roll of Honour is a painted list of names of City of Winnipeg Employees who served in the First World War. The list consists of 739 names, each stating what City department they were from, and each marked with a symbol beside them to indicate whether they were taken as a prisoner of war, wounded, killed, or decorated. The list is surrounded by a border of leaves that feature the coat of arms of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, as well as that of the City of Winnipeg in front of two flags: the Union Jack and the Canadian Red Ensign. Above the list is a painting of a battlefield scene.

It is not known where the original paper version of the Electric Railway Company First World War Roll of Honour is located, but a digital version is located in the Manitoba Electrical Museum digital archives. Published in 1917, the only print copy is at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.

The Winnipeg Electric Railway Co. owned and operated the city’s streetcars from 1892-1955.

This bronze plaque recognizes all Manitoba Power Commission (MPC) employees who served in the Second World War. The crosses by four names indicate they were killed in action. It was installed in MPC’s head office in downtown Winnipeg in 1947 and replaced a temporary honour roll that had been hanging since the war. The plaque was designed by Percy R. Marsh of Winnipeg and an image of the Manitoba Power Commission logo is at the top. The Honour Roll Committee consisted of Bob Coxe, Accounting Department; Doug Wade, Supply Department; and Parry Power, Personnel Officer.

Following the amalgamation of MPC with Manitoba Hydro in 1961, the plaque was installed at Manitoba Hydro’s head office at 820 Taylor Avenue. The plaque was removed in 2017 when Manitoba Hydro consolidated employees at its head office at 360 Portage Avenue. It was is in storage in that building until it was installed on November 7, 2022.

This Roll of Honour lists names of Winnipeg City employees who enlisted in the Second World War. On July 15, 1946, the Committee on Legislation and Reception made a formal recommendation in Council that such an honour roll be made and the recommendation was forwarded to Mayor Coulter. John D. Duthie completed the Roll of Honour in 1947.

It hung in City Hall until transferred to the Archives for safekeeping. This Roll of Honour consists of 537 hand painted names of City of Winnipeg employees who served in the Second World War. The names are organized by the department they worked in and stars are placed next to the names of those who died during the war. The title at the top consists of calligraphy, as well as a Union Jack flag rising out of the letters. The center of the print showcases an image of a knight's helmet and a sheathed sword above an image of the City of Winnipeg seal. The bottom features a quote from the ancient Greek leader Pericles.

This tank, Model M4A2 76mm (W) HVSS serial number 69139 was built by the Fisher Tank Division, of General Motors, Detroit Michigan, in April of 1945. The Canadian Army had used earlier versions of the Sherman in Italy and Northwest Europe from 1943, but these tanks were disposed of in Europe at the end of the war. In 1946, to equip the post-war Canadian Army, 300 M4A2 Shermans were purchased from the USA at a cost of $1,460 each. They served with the Regular Force until the adoption of the Centurion tank in 1958 with the last ones retired in 1970. A number of them became range targets and several become monuments such as this one.

In 2021, the Manitoba government unveiled the latest round of projects from the Military Memorial Conservation Grant program. The Royal Canadian Legion Charleswood Branch 100 was granted $13,700 for the conservation of the Sherman tank.

The vehicle carries the marking of The Fort Garry Horse (Militia) for the period 1946-1959.

Arm of Service Sign - the left front and left rear carry the arm of service sign of the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps. A square with red and yellow halves, divided diagonally. Above, a 2-inch white bar carries the unit’s abbreviated name “FGH (M)”.

Formation Sign - the right front and right rear carry the Prairie Command shield. Prairie Command was the organization responsible for Saskatchewan, Manitoba and NW Ontario. After 1959, Prairie Command was absorbed by Western Command, and the Green Western Command flash was carried until 1968 and the unification of the Canadian Forces.

Unit Name - in the mid-1950’s the unit name in the form “FORT GARRY HORSE (M)” was added to the sides of the vehicles located in Winnipeg for recruiting purposes.

Turret Markings - a yellow triangle on the turret indicated “A” Squadron of the regiment. A square was used to indicate B Squadron, a Circle for C Squadron, and a Diamond for D Squadron.

This Stained glass window was donated and dedicated by Anton and Patty Kirk. The memorial was unveiled on October 21, 1991. The light stained glass window is featuring HMCS UGANDA/QUEBEC by Mrs. Wanda Pike of European Art Glass Limited, Winnipeg. The memorial is dedicated to the Canadian Navy personnel of HMCS UGANDA/HMCS QUEBEC. Initially commissioned by the Royal Navy on December 17th, 1942, the Royal Canadian Navy re-commissioned the cruiser on October 21st, 1944 as HMCS UGANDA. On August 1st, 1947 she was paid off into reserve status. UGANDA was re-commissioned on January 14th, 1952 as HMCS QUEBEC. In June 1956, she was retired.
