On Sunday, June 21st in the year 1964 under a clear sky and bright sunshine, the solemn memorial service was held in the corner of the Teulon Elementary school yard to dedicate the above monument to those who lost their lives in the service for their country. Rev. E. Symns of Gunton and Rev. R. Matthews were in charge of the service. The official unveiling was performed by the Hon. George Hutton, Minister of Agriculture. President Art W. Campbell, of the Teulon Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion (166) read the names inscribed on the plaque, followed by the laying of wreaths. The monument was constructed by Mr. Hans Goeke.

This unusual monument combines a very tactile obelisk form of rough stone with a broad base. The monument features 14 names from the dead of World War I and 17 from World War II.
