ERECTED BY THE PEOPLE OF DROPMORE & VICINITY
IN MEMORY OF
THE BOYS FROM DROPMORE
WHO WERE KILLED IN THE GREAT WAR
1914 - 1918
In 1919, the citizens of Dropmore and surrounding districts erected a ten-foot high, white marble needle-stone memorial dedicated to the local war dead of the First World War. An image of a beaver chewing on a sapling is located above the inscription. It was unveiled on May 24, 1919, by Mrs. Neville.
The cenotaph was restored in the late 1990s and again in 2021.
This style of an Honour Roll was designed by R. Douglas Fraser of Toronto.
