Erected by the village of Wawanesa, this memorial is dedicated to the local war dead of the First and Second World Wars. It was unveiled on 11 November 1921. It commands both the main street of the village and the top of a cliff flanking the River Souris. Stone columns enclose the monument and there is a fenced compound with flag pole to complete the site.

This memorial was erected by the village of Margaret and area in honour of the local war dead of the First World War. It was originally unveiled in June 1921. The statue was created by E.J. Skelton from Walkerton, Ontario. The soldier's gaze is nearly straight ahead, arms relaxed and hands resting on the barrel end of the rifle. 

Names of the local war dead from the Second World War were added later. The cenotaph was cleaned and restored in 1974.

The entrance to the Centennial Park is flanked by two stone cairns, one is in memory of the Riverside pioneers, the other is this memorial which is dedicated to the war dead of the rural municipality of Riverside. It was erected by the Rural Municipality of Riverside and unveiled on 25 June 1967.
