The same Roll of Honour is erected at St. Stephen's Church in Saanichton (59021-007), but with a different frame and two names are interchanged in the list.

These memorials are dedicated to those who served and those who died in the First and Second World Wars. They were erected by St. Stephen's Church. The First World War Roll of Honour was painted by James Carrier, a well-known portrait artist and parishioner who died in 1939. The two Rolls of Honours are not limited to members of St. Stephen's, but list all those who were from the Parish of South Saanich regardless of religious affiliation. The Second World War Roll of Honour has faded making some of the names illegible. The same Roll of Honour is erected at St. Mary's Church in Saanichton (59021-008), but with a different frame and two names are interchanged in the list.

Constructed in July of 1919, the monument has become a memorial to the war dead of 1914-1918, 1939-1945, 1950-1953 (Korea) and to Major Ernest W. MacQuarrio, CD, MA, BD Ceremonial Chaplain 1972-1993. It consists of a large block of granite approximately 1.7m high, set on a concrete base and dias of rough cast finish.

The land for Gore Park was dedicated to honour the First World War dead in 1919 but it was not until November 11, 1957, that a peace memorial at Gore Park was added. In 1971 the memorial was moved from Gore Park to the front of Municipal Hall.

George R. Pearkes Community Recreation Centre is named in honour of Major-General George R. Pearkes, VC, PC, CC, CB, DSO, MC, CD, Croix de guerre (France), Legion of Merit (USA).

George Randolph Pearkes was born in Watford, England on 26 February 1883. He came to Canada in 1906 and joined the Royal North West Mounted Police. In 1915, he enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, later rising to command the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles.

As well as recognizing his courage, the award of the Victoria Cross to Major Pearkes was due to his skillful handling of his troops at Passchendaele in Belgium on 30 and 31 October 1917. At a particular stage, the progress of Pearkes’s troops was threatened by a German strongpoint. Quickly evaluating the situation, he captured the position, which enabled him to continue to advance toward his objective, and then to hold it with a small number of men, despite a wound in the thigh. Although he was wounded five times over the course of the First World War, Pearkes remained a career soldier and went on to hold several major command appointments during the Second World War. After retiring from the Army, he entered federal politics as a Progressive Conservative and was elected four times to the House of Commons (1945, 1953, 1957 and 1958). Pearkes served as Minister of National Defence in Prime Minister John Diefenbaker’s Cabinet from 1957 until 1960. In 1961, he was appointed Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia, a position he held until 1968. Pearkes died on 30 May 1984 in Victoria, British Columbia. The main building housing National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario is named the Major-General George R. Pearkes Building in his honour.

This memorial was dedicated to those who fought in the First and Second World War, Korean War and Peacekeeping. It was erected by the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch no. 84.

The first war memorial erected was a wooden structure with the names of those who were serving and those killed inscribed on large white boards, two places on each of the four sides of the memorial. "The Shrine" listed the names of all men and women who were serving their country at that time. After, names were added as they joined the services. Those who were killed were marked with a cross. (A permanent masonry moved to the centre of the Centennial Park then under construction.) At the beginning of the First World War, the population of Saltspring Island was approximately 1,000. From that number, 150 men and women joined the armed services, nine lost their lives - two in the RCN, three in the Army and four in the RCAF or RAF. Seventy-nine years ago from 1996, the first Remembrance Day service was held on Saltspring Island. Since 1931, these have been organized and directed by Branch 92 of the Royal Canadian Legion. The Cenotaph has been the location for other services: "D" Day remembrances and "V.E" Day celebrations. (The site of the annual Canada Flag-Raising also.)

This memorial is dedicated to the memory of the local war dead of the First and Second World Wars. On the surrounding wall are plaques that honour those who served in the Korean War and the Canadian Merchant Navy. The cenotaph was originally located on the Memorial Park Society's land, but was relocated in the 1980s to the Municipal Hall.

The plaque was dedicated to letter carriers of the Vancouver post office who  served during the First World War. The plaque was originally installed in the Vancouver main post office then moved to the Richmond main sorting station in 1958. 

This road, General Currie Road, is named in honour of General Sir Arthur Currie, GCMG, KCB, VD, Légion d’honneur and Croix de Guerre (with palm)- France, Order of the Crown and Croix de Guerre – Belgium, Distinguished Service Medal – US.

General Sir Arthur William Currie was born in December 1875, in the hamlet of Napperton, near Strathroy. He moved to Victoria in 1894 and taught at public schools in the area. In 1897, he joined the 5th Regiment, Canadian Garrison Artillery (C.G.A.) and has the unique distinction of starting his military career as a pre-war militia gunner before rising through the ranks to become the first Canadian commander of the four divisions of the unified Canadian Corps of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He was the first Canadian to attain the rank of full general. Currie’s success was based on his ability to rapidly adapt brigade tactics to the exigencies of trench warfare, using set-piece operations. Currie was not afraid to voice his disagreement with orders or to suggest strategic changes to a plan of attack, and is generally considered to be among the most capable commanders of the Western Front and one of the finest commanders in Canadian military history. A courageous and innovative officer, he is best remembered for his involvement in formulating the plan for the great victory at Vimy Ridge. Then, as the first Canadian commander of the Canadian Corps, his brilliant leadership produced the sweeping Canadian victories of the War’s Last Hundred Days. After the war, Currie was offered the position of Principal and Vice-Chancellor of McGill University. He held this post with distinction from 1920 until his death in November, 1933.
