D-Day and the Battle of Normandy
75th anniversary — 1944-2019

NEW LOCATION: Today’s commemorative ceremony in Halifax, Nova Scotia will now take place at Willow Park Armoury. You are encouraged to bring an official government photo ID to access the event on the Canadian Armed Forces Base. Staff will direct traffic for parking off-site (mostly at Windsor Park) and for those who arrive without an ID, escorts will bring visitors from the gate to the Armoury.

On June 6 1944, Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy (France) to open the way to Germany from the West. Victory in the Normandy campaign would come at a terrible cost. The Canadians suffered the most casualties of any division in the British Army Group.

June 6, 2019 marks the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. How will you remember?
