Youth Remember the Liberation of the Netherlands

The Liberation of the Netherlands is one of the best-known chapters from our country’s military history. The Canadians who fought to free the Dutch people in 1944–1945 played an important role in the Allied efforts to bring the Second World War to an end in Europe. Using the lesson plans and resources below, we encourage educators to help young people learn more about this important campaign and how Canada has defended peace and freedom around the world over the years.

Schools and community groups may be able to arrange a visit by a Veteran to talk about the Liberation of the Netherlands. We also encourage you to send an e-card to a Veteran any day of the year.
