  • Photo of George Snider– Snider, George Palmer - Gunner. Born 3rd October, 1919, at Belleville, Ont. Educated at Queen Alexandra Public School, Belleville, and Whitney Public School and Jarvis Collegiate Institute, Toronto. Entered the service of the Bank l7thJanuary, 1939. Served at Spadina & College (Toronto).  Enlisted 19th March, 1942, from that branch in R.C.A.P.C. Trained at Hamilton and Otillia, Ont. Transferred to R.C.A. in August, 1943. Trained at Petawawa, Ont. Died at Toronto 6th June, 1944, following a serious operation.  Gunner Snider was a son of the late Allan Y. Snider, a former member of the Bank's staff. From a memorial booklet prepared by the Canadian Bank of Commerce.
