Father of John Gilmore, Eleanor Grace, Desmond Gilmore, Sydney Patrick and Marion Ethel.

Brother of Colonel Philip George Griffin, who died while serving with the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps.

Brother of Private Victor Ernest Griffin, who died while serving with the Canadian Infantry (Western Ontario Regiment).
