(Translation from Archives régimentaires du Royal 22e Régiment) “During a raid on an enemy post, at 500 yards in front of our line, he displayed true courage and killed many enemy soldiers. Armed with grenades, he damaged the enemy’s shelters and helped with taking prisoners. This man excelled in hand-to-hand fighting with bayonet. Private Langlois volunteered for this raid. He was part of a group of four Officers and 110 men”.

Baptized François-Xavier Langlois. Son of Thomas Langlois and Marie Méthot, of Grande-Rivière, Gaspésie, and Montréal, Québec.

He stated being named Frank, born in Grande-Rivière in 1895 when he enlisted.

He was awarded the Military Medal for conspicous barvery on May 27-28 mai, 1918, in front of Boiry Becquerelle.
