His full name is Patrick James Doyle.
Son of Patrick James Michael Doyle and Jane Ellen Garvey of Montréal, Québec. During the First World War, he enlisted on September 25, 1914, at Camp Valcartier, Quebec, in the 1st Heavy Battery Ammunition Column of the Canadian Field Artillery of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, regimental number 43106. He fought in France and was demobilized on February 8, 1919.
On April 12, 1945, the SS Silver Star Park collided with the American freighter Mamgore and caught fire off the coast of New York, USA, in the North Atlantic. At least 15 sailors, including the captain, were killed in the accident.
