Son of Russel Riddell and Violet Helen Harper (formerly Riddell) of Toronto, Ontario. Brother of Ronald. Husband of Lynette Frances (nee Brett) Riddell and father of David, Mark and Susan Riddell of London, Ontario. A Commemorative Ceremony was held at Wegner Point on 11 May 2008 to honour the seven fallen paratroopers who drowned in 1968 during a para drop exercise at CFB Petawawa. Close to 100 guests, most in uniform, attended the Ceremony gathered around the Memorial Cairn. Several family members of the deceased were present for the Ceremony.
