This memorial is dedicated to those from Chesterville and District who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War and U.N. Peacekeeping. It was erected by the Village of Chesterville.

The original memorial was upgraded by having a wing on each side added which included the names of those who died in the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. The memorial was moved from its original location to a park on Queen Street which is now called Veteran's Memorial Park.

On September 28, 1997, Royal Canadian Legion members and friends attended the unveiling of the new Chesterville Legion Branch 434 Cenotaph in Chesterville.
