This brass plaque is dedicated to the memory of Major Alan Torrance Powell, D.S.O.

Allan Torrance Powell was born on 11 August 1886, the son of Robert H. W. Powell, M.D., and Elizabeth F. Torrance, of 3 College Court, Quebec City. He attended Lisgar Collegiate in Ottawa and graduated from the Royal Military College in Kingston. He died on 18 April 1918 (military records indicate 19 April) along with 5 other members of the 14th Battalion (Quebec Regiment) and is buried at Aubigny Communal Cemetery Extension.
