This bronze plaque is dedicated to the memory of Lieut. Hugh Massy Baker, Royal Canadian Engineers.

Hugh Massy Baker was born in October 1920 in Ottawa and received his early education at Rockcliffe Park Public School. He went on to Lisgar Collegiate and Ashbury College and graduated from the Royal Military College in Kingston in 1939. He began his service in Petawawa before proceeding overseas. At the time of his death on March 5, 1942, he was serving with 1st Field Park Company, RCE.  Lieutenant Baker is buried in the Bansha Church of Ireland Churchyard, County Tipperary, Irish Republic.
