Eli Rogers
Eli Rogers was born in Newfoundland on February 16, 1919. The son of a locomotive engineer he enlisted with the Navy when he was 21 years old. Mr. Rogers served on many ships in the Navy with the Royal Navy Rescue unit.

The cook aboard was Dave Fordsythe at this time. The cook had a violin so we went ashore, sure enough I saw a guitar, I was playing the guitar at that time. So of course, in time we entertained the crew and we entertained the officers and any visitors that were aboard. So I remember that quite well. Yeah, our trip to Malta
