This cenotaph was erected in memory of our glorious war dead. It was unveiled on November 11th, 1966, in front of the Canadian Legion building, on lot 222, boulevard Perron West, a property that belongs today to Mr. Fabrice Bourques, evaluator. In 1968, when the building became property of the chief of police, Mr. Brisson, the monument was moved in front of the old city hall. In 1975, the old convent became the new city hall and the monument was moved again. Some have called it the travelling monument! Its last move has been to its present location in Souvenir Park, in 1989. Each year, on November 11th, a Remembrance Day ceremony is held in front of the monument, and many wreaths are laid.
