He pretended he was six years younger and widowed when he enlisted.
Husband of Rosa Desormiers of Montréal (remarried to Hormisdas Paré in 1920)., Father of Yvonne and Gabrielle Bolduc.
He enlisted on 11 August 1915 in Montréal, Québec, with the 41st Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, and was posted to the 23rd Battalion on 15 March 1916 in Shorncliffe, England, before being transferred to the 22nd Battalion in France, on 15 April of that year. He fought at Zillebeke, Belgium, and then at the Battle of the Somme in France. He was killed in action on 17 September 1916 at the Battle of Courcelette, France.

POZIERES BRITISH CEMETERY Somme, France
Pozieres is a village some 6 kilometres north-east of Albert, and the POZIERES BRITISH CEMETERY, which is enclosed by the Pozieres Memorial, is a little south-west of the village on the north side of the main road, D929, from Albert to Pozieres.
