Under the 1940 NRMA, he was a private with 2nd Battalion Company B, 5th Platoon, Algonquin Regiment – ??NPAM – service number B-528747, for basic training at Camp Number 22 in North Bay, Ontario, from November 22 to December 21, 1940, then from February 20 to 27, 1942 to join the Royal Canadian Air Force.
He served in Canada and Great Britain. He had 862 days of service, including 369 overseas.
1939-1945 Star, France-Germany Star, Defence Medal, General Service Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, operational wings.
