John F. Clarke was born in Goldboro and he was the son of Sandy & Edith Clarke. During World War II, John served with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise's). <P> He died on August 8, 1944 and he is buried at Beny-Sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery in France. <P> While overseas, John married and following his death his wife Doris and daughter Carole moved from England to Goldboro and lived there for many years. Doris is now deceased. -
