Burial/memorial information
On 16 October 1941, the Bold Venture made the route Baltimore, Pennsylvania, USA, Sydney, Nova Scotia, Liverpool, England, with convoy SC-48. At 0.07 am, she was torpedoed by U-432 in the North Atlantic and quickly sank in position 56°10'N/24°30'W. Of a crew of 34 sailors, 17 lost their lives. The survivors were picked up by the Canadian corvette HMCS Wetaskiwin (K175) and landed in Reykjavik, Iceland, on the 24th.
