Halifax V LK705 from 431 (RCAF) Sqn took off at 20:27 from Croft on
a Gardening (Mining) operation in the Baltic Sea. It was attacked by a
German night fighter while flying at 5000 metres altitude and crashed at
23.43 hours in the Klelund plantation killing the crew of seven.
They were laid to rest in two graves in Fovrfelt cemetery in Esbjerg on 3/3 1944.

Esbjerg is a port in south-western Jutland. ESBJERG (FOURFELT) CEMETERY is about 3 kilometres to the north of the town, off the road to Hjerting, along the Gravlundvej.
