He was born Joseph Paul Edmond Perron and served as Edmund Perron.
Son of Oscar Perron and Janet Stuart Docherty of Montréal, Québec.
On 12 April 1945, the SS Silver Star Park collided with the American freighter Mamgore and caught fire off the coast of New York, USA, in the North Atlantic. At least 15 sailors, including the captain, were killed in the accident.
