Burma – Birmanie

This battle honour was awarded to 435 and 436 Squadrons which flew transportation operations in Burma under South East Asia Command (1944 – 1945). Also, 5000 Canadian aircrew flew in Burma (1942 – 1945), in up to 60 RAF Squadrons. They flew over water and/or rugged jungle covered mountains, often in appalling monsoon weather, without ground-based navigational aids.
