Enrolled with the Lanark and Renfrew Scottish Regiment, B Company – NPAM – service number C-417280, in Arnprior, Ontario, from 7 November 1940 to 5 April 1941, when he joined the air force. He then served in Canada, in England and in Scotland. He had 303 days of service, including 62 overseas.
