Son of the late William and Aurore (née Beland) Trottier; stepson of Léonie (née Allard) Trottier, of Shawinigan Falls, Quebec.He enlisted on 28 February 1944 stating he was a labourer and single. He was the brother of Gabrielle, Georges, Olga, Graziella and Mrs. Paul Emile Cyr.
