Brother of Seaman George Raymond Cassidy, registration V-43323, of the Royal Canadian Navy Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Frances Cassidy Oakley, registration W-1352, of the Canadian Army Show Overseas 'Royal Canadian Air Force. They survived the war.
He was a corporal in the Wayne Cadet Corps of the Canadian Army in Wayne, Alberta, from 1932 to 1936, a private in the 6th Army Field Workshop of the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps – NPAM – in Drumheller, Alberta, from August 1940 to June 1941.
He served in Canada, Great Britain, Libya. He had 948 days of service, including 459 overseas.
1939-1945 Star, Africa Star, Defense Medal, General Service Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, Operational Wings.
