I am researching the crew of No. 405 (R.C.A.F.) Squadron that was shot down on a mission to bomb Nuremberg by a German nightfighter on 02 Jan. 1945. Five of the seven-man crew were killed; the remaining crew (one Canadian and one British airman survived and were interned at Stalag Luft 1 concentration camp. My uncle, F/O Gerald Edward Geeves was one of the crew members who lost his life. His name and picture also appear on this Canadian Virtual War Memorial site. The picture of Nathan Crawford was sent to me by his daughter, Joan. All I know is that she lives in New Brunswick.
