Newspaper Clipping
Corporal Campbell enlisted in The Queen's Own Rifles in June 1940 upon mobilization for overseas service. He served with the Regiment in Newfoundland, in Sussex, New Brunswick, and in England prior to D-Day. He was in Support Company on D-Day and survived the Normandy campaign. Corporal Campbell was killed when his WASP hit a mine in the attack on Ijzendijke (Scheldt). -
