Additional information
Son of William McBride and Annie Woodside Ferguson. Husband of Hilda Mary Snell of Kirkfield Park, Manitoba. Father of Eileen Phyllis, Retha May and William Theodore McBride. William served in the Royal Irish Rifles, matricula 16698, enlisted in 1914 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he was killed in action on February 10th, 1916 in Flanders while serving with the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers of the British Army.

Served in Manitoba, Jamaica with Y Force, Hong Kong with C Force. He had 8334 days of service, including 55 overseas.

To commemorate his sacrifice, the Manitoba government named McBride Bay located northwest of the Lake Quinn coast in his honor in 1989.
