Son of Angus and Florence Jean Cameron, of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
After his training with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, he was posted to duty at the Justice Building in Rockcliffe. He volunteered with the Provost Corps and went overseas with the First Canadian Contingent in December 1939. Cst. Cameron had two brothers in the Canadian Army, one of which died a month before he did. At the time of his death, Cst. Cameron was engaged to be married. There is a street named after him in his honour.
His brother, Trooper Gordon Angus Cameron was killed in action on November 9, 1943 while serving with the 4th Princess Louise Dragoon Guards.
1969-45 Star, Italy Star, Defence Medal, War Medal and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp.

MORO RIVER CANADIAN WAR CEMETERY Italy
The Moro River Canadian War Cemetery lies in the locality of San Donato in the Commune of Ortona, Province of Chieti, and is sited on high ground near the sea just east of the main Adriatic coast road (SS16). The cemetery can be reached from Rome on the autostrada A25 (Rome-Pescara) by branching on the autostrada A14 and leaving it at Ortona. The approach road to the cemetery from the main road passes under an arch forming part of the little church of San Donato. The cemetery is permanently open and may be visited anytime.
