Joined the Royal Canadian Regiment in August 1939, trained at Valcartier, Quebec, and went to England in December 1939 with the First Division. He was an anti-aircraft gunner during the Battle of Britain, then fought with the Canadian Army in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. Killed at Ortona.
