Grave Marker
CSM Johnston was killed by a German artillery round as himself and Officer Commanding D Company, Major Ridge dove for cover in a slit trench that was dug near to their Company Headquarters at the base of Point 204 at the Gothic Line. I learned this in a letter that Major Ridge sent to my father (Stan Scislowski) in 1966.
