Son of Jonathan and Margaret Jackson, of Toronto, Ontario; Husband of Thelma Doreen Jackson, of Toronto. Both his younger brother, Walter Leslie Jackson, and his father also served in the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada. Walter died one year later on April 16, 1945.

Rifleman Gordon Jackson initially enlisted in the Medical Corps but along with his younger brother Walter was transferred to the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada in order to be with their father who had enlisted as a Rifleman. He served with the regiment in England and was killed in Normandy. -
