I was looking for a grave of any man near my hometown of Whitby, Ontario. I came across J.G. Gordon from Pickering and placed some wild poppies on his headstone. -

Rifleman Martin enlisted in The Queen's Own Rifles in June 1940 and served with the Regiment in Newfoundland, New Brunswick and in England. Martin was in Baker Company of the Regiment and killed on the beach at Bernières-sur-mer on D-Day. -
