Son of John and Tilly Krysowaty of Davidson, Saskatchewan. Brother of Pauline, Walter, Tom, Adolf, Julian, Mike, Julia, Dora and Jennie.
Krysowaty Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, was named after Sapper Krysowaty by the Saskatchewan Geo-Memorial Project which named 3,913 northern lakes, peninsulas, bays, rivers, and islands after Saskatchewan-born servicemen.

Sapper John Krysowaty was born 4 miles north of Hubbard, Saskatchewan on January 17, 1912. He enlisted in Saskatoon on April 26, 1941. John trained as a Blacksmith and was assigned to the 13th Field Company of the Royal Canadian Engineers. After being stationed in England, he boarded a ship and disembarked in southern Italy on November 8, 1943. While on reconnaissance duty and mine-sweeping activities on May 18, 1944 during the battle of Liri Valley, John Krysowaty died of wounds he received in action. He is buried in the Cassino War Cemetary. -
