Flying Officer Clare Connor (r) and his radio operator John Hannah stand in front of the Hampton Bomber Connor had been piloting during a bombing mission over Antwerp. The plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire but Connor managed to fly it back to RAF Scampton, earning himself the Distinguished Flying Cross and Hannah the Victoria Cross. -
