Burial/memorial information
On 15 January 1945, the Narva was sailing from Naples, Italy, to Alexandria, Egypt, with military equipment when it exploded about 100 miles (160 km) north-west of the Libyan coast. Sixteen sailors lost their lives. The cause of the explosion was never determined. No German submarine has claimed responsibility for sinking it.
