Son of James Joseph Craig and Susan Maria Tweed, of Medway, Kent, England. Husband of Angel Marjorie Eva Rowton, of St. Pancras, London, England.

Requisitioned by the Royal Navy, the SS St. Dominic became an HMS in 1940. On 8 December 1941, the tug HMS St. Dominic was bombed and sunk by Japanese aircraft south of Saddle Islands, near the mouth of the Yangtze River, in the China Sea, position 04°42'S/45°28'E.
